With each passing day in Spain, I find myself accumulating more and more vocabulary. Today’s word? Hueco–a gap, or a space. Over the course of months, I have gained a little collection of words that I find linguistically pleasing. Pretty nerdy, right? These words have everyday meanings, but sound lovely, and roll off the tongue with ease.
Revuelto (rev-wel-tow)–A tasty scrambled egg dish. I love this word, because it sounds like ‘revolting’ in English, but in Spanish it means something delicious.
Ciencia (thee-en-thee-ah)–Science. This is a great word for that typical Spanish lisp.
Nuez (Noo-eyth)– Nut
Aguantar (Ah-gwant-tar)–To tolerate
Try saying these words. They are just fun to say! Who else out there has a favorite Spanish word? Let me know!
