It is barely February, but there is definitely a hustle and bustle going around. It is easy to tell that Feria, the Seville Fair is coming. In a little more than a month, the city will be awash with colors, lights, and celebration. Yet now is the time for preparation. Women are popping in and out of shops, their little girls in tow. They struggle down the street, carrying large puffy plastic bags. It is time to find the perfect flamenco dress.
Today I spent a good portion of time trying on flamenco dresses for the first time, which actually was a bit confusing since I wasn’t sure how it was supposed to fit, and how it was supposed to feel. After awhile, I got the hang of it and found a traje, perfect in price, and in size. The search isn’t over, however. I still have to buy the hairpiece, the shawl, the earrings, and the shoes. Phew!
Basically, I want to wear this dress all day, everyday.
