After spending three years in England, one year in France, and one year in Spain, I am pleased to finally be back in the US. I have taken the plunge, and gotten a true ‘grown up’ job. I will be teaching both middle school and high school French and Spanish at a private school!
This summer has been a hectic one, and I have still been a nomad, but on a much smaller scale. My father is moving houses, and essentially living in the Residence Inn until the construction is finished. I have also been bouncing around the United States, visiting friends and family.
So, with all this stress; I am looking forward to settling down…even if it is only for a few years!
I have been experiencing different cultures for five years, traveling from country to country, and my upcoming experience won’t be any different! I am a true New Englander at heart, and I will be moving down to….drumroll, please….Fredericksburg, Virginia!
Fredericksburg is a tiny city, and really a bedroom community for Washington D.C. Unlike Washington D.C., however, it has both Southern and small town charm. As someone explained to me, it is the ‘north of the South’. While it is near metropolitan strongholds like D.C. and Philly, it also has deep roots in Civil War history.
Join me as I learn more about this city, day by day, and reintroduce myself to the country I wandered away from five years ago!
